Sir, Yes Sir

A nondescript sedan creeps up behind us as we walk across the parking lot. It honks, making us aware of its presence, and we move to let it pass even though the parking lot is deserted.

The two recruiters don’t even introduce themselves. “You guys want to join the Army?” they ask, dressed in their camoflauge fatigues. Those fatigues really help them blend in with the Winchell’s donuts in Costa Mesa.

“No thanks,” we say.

“Good luck in life.” They drive away.

Fucking murderers.

And they are murders because…? Maybe you think that because they happen to be affiliated with of a group of people that you do not agree with? With that kind of thinking, that would mean “all” Muslims are terrorists and murderers, right?

Not quite sure how that infers that all Muslims are terrorists, but sure, terrorists would probably be considered muderers.

Allow me to explain now why I don’t agree with the war and why I’m calling them murderers (which was taken to an extreme mostly because of the snide comment they made to me about good luck with the rest of my life): Death toll from the WTC attacks: 2,602 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casualties_of_the_September_11%2C_2001_attacks)

Estimated civilian casualties in Iraq from the war: Anywhere from 22,047 to 25,010 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casualties_in_the_conflict_in_Iraq)

I believe you forgot a) fuck anonymous comments, you pussy bastard, and you’re obviously wrong if you have to post anonymously and b) the army EXISTS TO KILL PEOPLE. THAT’S WHAT THEY TRAIN YOU FOR. This makes them at least killers, and murderers is not very far off from that.

murder: The unlawful killing of one human by another, especially with premeditated malice.

let us give the soldiers the benefit of the doubt and say they truly believe they are helping iraqis. let us ignore those soldiers who wage war as if it were a video game… its obvious they are murderers. and let’s not talk about how the soldiers are “defending freedom”… there were no WMDs found, dubya and all were just flat wrong… which was no surprise.

in the mind of hte soldier…. they will liberate the iraqis by killing tens of thousands and destorying historical iraqi cities, all while conveniently handing out no-bid contracts to U.S. companies. Obviously a problem there, but they really believe they are doing good. so to call them “murderers”… that’s questionable. it is unlawful, but is it with premeditated malice?

but what isn’t questionable… the policy makers.. they are murderers. no doubt. they know exactly what they’re doing and that is killing people and destroying cities for oil, profit, and economic control. premeditated malice? you bet.

so…. i wouldn’t say “murderers”… i’d say, “bitch, i’m not gonna risk my life for oil”.
